Georgia Tech Student Division Chapter Updates

The Georgia Tech Student Chapter of ASEE volunteered at the Georgia State Championship of the FIRST Lego League 2012 Challenge, which was held on Jan. 26, 2013, on Georgia Tech’s campus in Atlanta, Ga. The competition consisted of 48 teams of students, ranging in age from 9 to 14, who had each devised and built their own LEGO Mindstorms robot. The robots competed by completing various tasks on a 4ft x 8ft arena within a time limit of two and a half minutes.

Austin Chapter Pitches in at Food Bank

The Austin Community College ASEE Student Division Chapter collected a total of 365 pounds of food and $253 cash at the NRG campus for the Capital Area Food Bank during the Thanksgiving season. The food bank said that the 365 pounds of food equates to approximately 292 meals, and the $253 cash has a purchasing power equal
to approximately $1,265. The ASEE group would like to thank the students, staff, and faculty at NRG who contributed to this effort.
