The First National Math Festival is Coming to D.C.!

NMFLogo_Horiz_RGB_300DPI2On April 18, the National Mall in Washington, D.C. will be filled with the country’s most brilliant and creative math nerds. Nothing of the kind has been attempted before, possibly out of fear that the nation can’t handle this much awesome in a one-mile radius.

There will be dozens of free events for all ages, from math-based balloon twisting to forensic math mysteries, there will be something for everyone—even those who don’t think they’re mathematically inclined (yet!). Renowned institutions and mathematicians will grace the stages as super-stars. MoMath, the National Math Museum, will be setting up their Math Midway in the Haupt Garden, alongside Guerilla Science’s, Oobleck Olympics. You will also be able to throw stuff into a wind tunnel (all in the interest of science, of course). An all-star roster of presenters will keep you on your toes between exhibits.
