The BP Ultimate Field Trip (UFT) is an international competition that challenges engineering students to solve a real-world problem in order to help BP to meet the world’s growing demand for energy safely and responsibility. Following last year’s successful expansion from the UK to the U.S. and Trinidad & Tobago, this year’s UFT is expanding further to include teams from Angola and Canada. Currently 12 U.S. universities have already planned on participating, but the competition is open to any university team in those countries.
The winning teams, which are chosen from each of the five countries, will take a two-week field trip to BP locations in Alaska and Chicago to explore career prospects in the oil and gas industry. Each winning team member will also receive prizes worth more than $800.
The registration site is open until November 1, 2013 and the U.S. finals will take place from April 10-11, 2014 in Houston, Texas.
